ABOUT US

Our name Zeilveen is build up from our familynames Zeilstra and van Veenendaal. This site is a digital diary of our great adventure called life. At the moment we are living in Holland in a small village called Ferwert. It's in the far north of Holland near the Waddenzee. We moved up here in 2006 after being abroad for more than a year, living and working in different communities.

Ronald
Is the father of the family. At the moment working as a freelance urban designer and also doing a fair amount of design visualisation for others. He loves taking the wee one and the dog for a walk and take out the camera shooting landscape pictures. When there is time left gardening is one of the favorite things he likes to do. At the moment working on sustainable design proposals for the family so that the ecovillage idea can get its form in the near future.

Anja
Is the mother of the family and is busy running the entire household. As we speak she is making bread in the kitchen. Is crazy about nature and loves to go for a walk or bicycle ride along the shoreline or forest. She is fascinated by the old ways of living and very much busy looking for more social and sustainable ways of living. She believes that living in a community and homeschooling children could be a good combination. In this way children can learn from the adults and other children in a much more natural and social way.

Evelien
Is our lovely 9-year-old daughter. She loves to play outside and to climb trees. She is a very cheerfull girl and is very good at making things of paper and clay. She loves adventerous walks and takes pictures of all things happening around her. Making music and especially singing is one of her other hobbies, sometimes with a whole performance complete with dance is a wonderfull event.

Lucas
Is our wee busy boy. He was born in September 2007. He loves climbing on things and "helping out" in the kitchen. He is good at moving things around in the house so others cant really find it. He loves playing with our puppy Charlie and they can play for hours chasing each other around the house.
